Rebecca Sorensen has worked with individuals with disabilities and their families for over 18 years. Her work includes program development and evaluation, resource management, individual and family support, and political advocacy. She currently works in Pittsboro for the non-profit XDS, Inc. as a Community Development Consultant organizing and implementing a unique community housing initiative to serve adults living with mental illness. The focus of her work is on healing and recovery through natural interactions and processes. To that end she represents a very special tiny house community that is a group of non-profit organizations and local businesses that have partnered to provide an alternative affordable housing option for individuals with disabilities and who have limited incomes.
